The Moeller Brothers

Born to the fertile music grounds of Ft. Worth, Texas.                  & early in life to dig into thier music loving father's record collection, the brothers found the avenue they felt they were born to cruise.                                                                                                "There was Lee Dorsey, George Jones, Jimmy Reed, Rockin Sydney, Slim Harpo, Gary Stewart, The Stones, The Kinks and Tony Joe White" says Johnny.                                                                    With that, their direction was set.                                                "Yeah, those records paved the course for sure, and we took it on down the way to Roland Kirk.  Parliment-Funkadelic, Public Enemy, The Clash, Juke Boy Bonner and Captain Beefheart" adds Jay.                                                                                                                    In the early part of their careers, while living in Denton, Tx., the Brothers played around the D/FW metroplex backing up such luminaries as Sam Myers,  Zuzu Bollin, Henry Qualls and Oakland Bloodworth, along with numerous incarnations of their own band. In their later teens doing the same thing in Austin, Tx.          According to Clifford Antone, "Their dad dropped em off & said, take good care of my boys."                                                                          Life in Austin brought about the opportunity to play with, and learn from "everybody that was still alive doing the only thing we cared about. Otis Rush, Mel Brown, Hubert Sumlin, Albert Collins, Earl King, Snooky Pryor and Ted Harvey could all be there in one weekend & you would wind up playing with two thirds of them, in some sort of fashion, and then the next weekend there would be a whole other bunch of genius's you'd get to check out & learn from". says Jay.                                                                                            As a result of those contacts made, the Brothers regularly worked with James Cotton, and Lazy Lester until their incredible careers came to a close. As well as being longtime members  of The Fabulous Thunderbirds and The Lou Ann Barton Band.                     They play with a tremendous feeling, and a firm grasp of the roots which they wish to grow from, which has led to                                 Collaboration/  Recording/  and Employment with.....
